A Day of Spiritual Reflection

Each year, mothers from Santa Maria College and Aquinas College spend a day together in spiritual reflection.

This year’s theme was ‘Connection’. The retreat day focussed on the connection with God, others and self. The retreat gave mums the opportunity to reflect on where they saw the sacredness in the world, God and themselves.

Father George Kolodziej, a Salvatorian priest provided some insight on the topic of loneliness and the need to connect with God, self and others to overcome loneliness.

Mar Knox from CARAD enlightened the mums on the plight of refugees and asylum seekers and the need to connect with the marginalised. The day concluded with a reflection on connection with self and a ritual prayer of thanksgiving.

The average person’s attention span when using a digital device has plummeted from around two and a half minutes back in 2004 to just 47 seconds on average today – a dramatic 66% decrease over the past two decades.
