UWA Helps Year 10s Find Their Way

On Monday, the Careers Centre hosted guest speakers Nevine and Caitlin from the University of Western Australia. They came to talk with students about finding a transition pathway after Year 12 and how UWA could assist. This was the first of a two-part session. The attendance of 40 students was encouraging, assisted with the lure of a complimentary breakfast to compensate for the early start.

The presentation covered many topics including; determining your interests, skills and abilities, and then offering some courses that may match. The feedback from the students was very positive and they found the session informative and helpful.

The Careers Centre will continue to host events like these on a regular basis, with the next scheduled event from Lattitude Gap Year on Monday 26 March from 7.45 am – 8.30 am. This interactive presentation is for students from Years 10 – 12 with RSVPs to Mrs Hughes at hughes.maryanne@santamaria.wa.edu.au. Breakfast will be provided.
